Travel out of Depression and into your Heart

Posted by admin in Job Search | 0 comments

01.01.18

Since I have some more solo trips coming up this summer, a lot of people have asking me, “aren’t you scared to travel alone?” my answer is “no, not at all.” When I was growing up, I grew up around fear. I was trapped and overprotected by my father. I didn’t know anything else outside of my comfort zone. But I knew that before I died, I wanted to travel and see the world. When I reached a dark place in my life called depression, I had nothing else to lose. I was at crossroads. Either I take my own life or I travel the world until I ran out of out money. I told myself, I’m not going to die before I at least get to see some parts of the world. And if I have to travel solo, so what, I’m not afraid. If I’m not afraid to die, then I’m not afraid of anything. Traveling opened up my eyes. It gave me a new perspective in life. But most importantly, it healed me. It opened up my heart and it saved my life. Now my mission here, is to save other lives. For those suffering, going through depression, still fighting it, or overcame it, I’m not saying traveling is your “escape” or your medicine, but it can heal you in so many ways, if you allow it to. You not only search for your soul but you learn to discover that what you’ve been searching for all along, was within you. No matter how far you travel, no matter how long you stay, you will find the tools to teach you how to cope with the sorrow. If you’re going through a break up, lost a friend or family member, lost your job, or feeling lost in life in general, just know, there are others out there who wish they had what you had. There are others out there that have less but are happier. There are others out there who are grateful for life even with the no money, food, or a roof over their heads. We just have to open our horizons to seeing outside of ourselves. Once you take that step into the unknown by yourself, you will discover all the answers. Close your eyes, listen, travel inwards, and be fearless enough to see with not only your eyes, but with your heart.
